Trend Alert: Skirted Tables

The elegant, tailored skirted table is one of the design greats, a timeless adornment in fabric—a design classic.

And it’s no longer reserved for traditional interiors; designers everywhere on the style spectrum have begun to cheerlead for its use. The skirted table is most at home in an entryway and by the bedside, lending softness and visual mass to what can often be a cavernous space. If the room echoes from lack of soft furnishings the fabric helps absorb sound. A wise consideration in a place where you have noise concerns.

Often a small space saver, where storage is at a minimum you can stack and store unsightly odds and ends under a skirted table with fabric that pools the floor.

If you are having a skirted table custom made, make an inch too long and always line and interline. This will give them a wonderful body that will look rich and refined.

Adding a piece of glass to the top of any skirted table will protect it from dust, dirt, and spilled drinks. It also will hold the cloth in place. For large tables, getting a piece of glass cut will add a nice finishing touch. Please contact Gilded Home for your custom Table Skirt!

Trend Alert: French Mattress

French mattress cushions are a beautiful alternative to standard cushions that can be used for window seats, daybeds, and benches.

French mattress cushions have beautiful, rolled edges, often along with tufting, and they couldn’t be more inviting. And it’s not just window seats where French mattress cushions are used – this style of cushion also looks beautiful (and super comfy) on daybeds and couches.

To complete the look, add matching bolster cushions with a french mattress edge.
